The inspiration for the Destruction White design came from a critical examination of domestic commercial buildings. The designer sought to break free from conventional architectural norms and explore new possibilities for space design. By incorporating techniques such as cantilevered cross flights of stairs and entrance lounge bridges, the designer created a dynamic and interconnected space.
One of the key features of the Destruction White design is its minimalist culture. The designer embraced the client's pursuit of simplicity and used destruction as a starting point to reshape the space. Through careful deliberation and demonstration, the soul, light, scenery, and wind of architecture were remolded into the building. The use of different materials, skin, tone, and texture harmoniously unite the space, returning to the essence of aesthetic values.
The realization of the Destruction White design involved the use of materials such as Arabescato, Bianco Botticino, Sunshine stone, Mongolia black, white matte paint board, and wood floor. These elements were carefully selected to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space.
The Destruction White design spans a project scale of 1200 square meters, offering ample space for various activities and functions. The design team, consisting of Kay Deng, Don, Jef, and Ling, collaborated to bring this vision to life.
The interaction within the Destruction White design is facilitated by the innovative use of architectural composition techniques. By breaking open the original space structure and reconstructing it, the designer created an engaging and experiential environment. The limitations of the space were overcome, and a sense of connection and interest was established.
The Destruction White design project commenced in April 2019 and was completed in February 2020 in Nanchang, China. Throughout the design process, extensive research was conducted to ensure the perfect combination of architectural space composition, proportion, and function. The designer aimed to create a space that embodies the essence of minimalism and captivates visitors.
One of the challenges faced during the design process was connecting the upper and lower spaces. To overcome this, a suspended steel staircase with ultra-thin treads was implemented. The concept of "light" replaced minimalism, and dynamic three-dimensional visuals were created through the interplay of light and shadows.
The Destruction White design, created by Kay Deng and the Setone design team, is a testament to the power of innovative thinking and creative exploration. It has been recognized with the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2021. This award acknowledges the design's practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial requirements.
